New York City
New York City is the most populous city in the United States, located in New York State. It is a global city, and it’s the centre of the state for finance, commerce, media, art, fashion, technology, research, education and entertainment. It is the home of the United Nations Headquarters, and it is said to be the cultural, financial and media capital of the world. New York City is often nicknamed NYC, the Big Apple, or just The City. It is one of the two universally acknowledges World Cities, the other being London. With immigrants from over 180 countries living in the city, it is one of the most cosmopolitan cities in the world and the most linguistically diverse city in the world. It also has the largest foreign born population of any city in the world.
New York City consists of five boroughs, each of which is a separate county of New York State. These boroughs are Brooklyn, Queens, Manhattan, The Bronx, and Staten Island.
New York City has one of the largest and most famous skylines in the world, mostly dominated by the Empire State Building. As the city is so huge, it is impossible to list all its must-sees.
