Ibiza is the third largest island of the Balearic Islands in the Mediterranean Sea. Its largest cities areIbiza Town, Santa Eulària des Riu, and Sant Antoni de Portmany. The port in Ibiza Town is a Unesco World Heritage Site.
Ibiza is well known for its nightlife, electronic dance music, and summer parties, attracting many tourists. Its government and the Spanish Tourist Office are working to promote more family-oriented tourism in the island.
Ibiza and the nearby island Formentera are also known as the Pine Islands, because of the many pines in their landscapes.
Worth a visit are the Es Vedra island rock, the hidden cove of Atlantis, the old part of Ibiza Town, the many beaches, the famous Es Canar Hippy Market, the historical Bar Anita in San Carlos, and the Cova de Can Marçà caves.
