Fighting Poverty…Charity begins at home. Every day we see the effects that poverty has on people living right next door to us. We believe that we have a responsibility to contribute. Vietnam destination managment team are involved in a wide range of projects. Some of these include:

  • A hospitality training school for disadvantaged youth in Hanoi.
  • An organisation that performs operations on children with cleft palettes and harelips.
  • A football tournament for children attending a school for marginalised and homeless youth.
  • The annual Saigon Cyclo Challenge to raise funds for a local children’s charity.
  • Sponsoring school fees for two orphans in Vietnam through a French NGO.
  • Partnering with a German NGO, Laos operates the “Akha Trail” tour. Small groups trek through Northern Laos to see the rural villages of the Akha, a struggling ethnic minority group. The money from these tours goes directly to the Akha people.
  • Myanmar contributes regularly to small scale independent projects.
  • Myanmar arranges personalised itineraries for people that want to meet and support the development of rural villages.

Charity – offering more to your clients and community!
Consultants arrange visits to local charities, schools and orphanages throughout all our destinations.
The Vietnam DMC office works hard to develop incentive programs that offer our corporate clients unforgettable experiences. Some of the most remarkable of these involve supporting local community organisations. All children in Myanmar attend a Buddhist initiation ceremony when they come of age. Sadly, many parents cannot afford this ceremony for their children. This brings great shame on the whole family. Vietnam DMC has introduced a number of our incentive clients to such families. The client sponsors two or three children to be initiated. They also pay to rebuild each family’s house. This gesture makes a meaningful difference to people’s lives. It also enables our corporate clients to participate in some authentic ceremonies. Few experiences can surpass encounters with the remarkable people of Myanmar.

As pioneering travel operators, committed to sustainable tourism.
Responsible Travel booklets contain tips on how to preserve the environment while travelling. They also highlight sensitive cultural issues unique to each country.
Re-use and recycle paper in all our offices, never throwing used paper away. Instead we give it to schools for craft activities.
Vietnam DMC are major sponsors of the first eco-tourism map of Vietnam. All proceeds go to primate conservation.
The Laos office is a GreenGlobe21 affiliate. This demonstrates our commitment to act as an environmentally responsible tour operator.
Laos is also a partner of the website.
"Wildlife in Laos" is a book which depicts the flora and fauna of Laos. The aim of the book is to raise awareness of endangered species in Laos and encourage their protection.
